Superleague Speedway
has now completed six full seasons which have been very successful. The game has evolved and is now as comprehensive as can be with loads of features and lots of work for managers to get involved with, although the development of the simulation is always ongoing. If you have ever wanted to run your own speedway club club then this simulation could be just what you're looking for. You control all aspects of the club from formulating the team through to deciding whether to invite another Fast Food company to set up at your stadium. Below is a list of questions you may have but if your question isn't answered here then e-mail us and we will respond to it for you.

What would I do as the manager?
Matches take place real-time throughout the week. You send in your decisions via email for your fixture (s) for the following week by 8.00pm on Thursday. You then sit back, relax and watch the week unfold as the results arrive in your inbox (at the latest 24 hrs after the match).

Is that it?
Depending on the time you have available you can do as much or as little as you wish. There are other options open to you like playing the transfer market, coaching riders, creating advertising campaigns for your club, interaction with other managers, improving your stadium facilities etc.....

Okay, how is the League set-up?
The League consists of the Superleague and Division One, each with 10 teams. Each team faces every other club twice at home and twice away and the aggregate bonus point is up for grabs in the second halves of the season. The top 2 from Div One and the bottom 2 from the Superleague swap at the end of the season with the 3rd placed side in Div One facing 8th in the Superleague over 2 legs in the play-off for the last Superleague place.

Can I develop my club?
Yes, you can build extra facilities for your stadium and increase the capacity. The quality and capacity of the stadiums in the simulation are considered when allocating the big events. You can also add to or reduce the size of your squad by loaning and selling your riders.

What else can my team get involved in?...
There is the KO Cup, Divisional Cups, Fours, Pairs and World Challenge Cup.

What can my riders compete in?
There is the World Individual Riders Championship, World Cup and World Under 21 Championships. Each club also has the opportunity to host an individual meeting during the season which can be restricted by the promoter (e.g. U20, Under 9.00 GSA). Divisional Rider's Championships and other individuals are also run by the league during the season.

Sounds fun, how are results/news distributed?
The results are posted to the e-mail group on a daily basis within 24 hors of the match taking place (i.e. a Monday night match should have the result issued on a Tuesday night at the latest and so on ...). Every Tuesday evening the Weekly Review is sent out to all managers on the group email list which contains all relevant info (CMA's, Injuries, Fixtures, Results Update, Manager Contact Info). Managers can use this list to launch press releases, conduct transfer talks, advertise rider availability, individuals etc.

Are there any extras?
Occasionally we try to host a "live" match with opposing managers instant messaging the League HQ to make real-time heat-by-heat decisions. We normally use this time to chat after the meeting as a group of managers about a variety of subjects. There are also some manager meetings held during the season to discuss any relevant topics if needed.
This feature is when time allows it to be run.

How much does it cost to play?
A small administration fee of £40 is payable per season. that works out at just over 70p per week to play Superleague Speedway.

Do I need any particular software to play?
The only application you need other than an e-mail account is Microsoft Excel. However, if you haven't got a copy of this program you can download a free Excel viewer from http://office.microsoft.com/Downloads/default.aspx (Search for Excel) which will enable you to play the simulation just as well.
