| Jan Kirsten (22) Denmark |
|
Jan lost his world title last season but
remains the best in the world to many people. Has been brilliant and
continues to be the kind of rider every team fears home or away, can
only be a matter of time before the main Dane is back at the top.
|
| Lee Jarman (24) England |
Lee has become one of the best English
riders around, and lifted the British title this season. At Houston
he is under the careful guidance of George Seymour where he will
hope to become the first English rider to lift the world crown.
|
| Ian Harding (22) England |
|
Ian made his debut in the world final last
season and has led Titirangi from division 3 to the Superleague. At 22
he is now on the world stage and regularly top scores for his side in
the hardest league in world speedway. Ian has a huge future and you
would not be far wrong to bet he will lift the world title before his
mid twenties.
|
| Daniel Capirossi (22) Italy |
| Another
youngster that has the world at his feet. If only Danny could gate then he
may be even better than his former team-mate Jan Kirsten. However the crowd
love him as he is capable of passing anything that moves on a speedway
bike, fantastic balance and full of courage he will go far, but as for
getting that world crown he wants so much, it will have to be a very
grippy track. |
| Jamie Jackson (21) England |
| Jamie
seemed to have the world at his feet after being picked by Houston. The
youngster was superb and led them to division one glory, however after a
terrible crash at the end of that winning season it has taken him a full
year to recover. This season will continue to be a big one for the youngster as he
tries to rebuild one of the most promising careers in speedway. |
| Piotr Polneczyck
(26) Poland |
| Piotr is a
rider that on his day can beat the best. His problem is though that for
every good day he has an average one as well. He will need to move on from
the level he is right now to be in the top heat leader bracket, he is
however capable of this and perhaps it is just a question of time for him.
He could benefit from a true number one to help him in this quest. |
| Markus Elts (25) Germany |
|
Markus made the move to Peterborough last
season and it has paid off for him, now one of the top riders in the
Superleague he will be looking to move on again this season in both
league and world championship.
|
| Marcus Gustafsson (23) Sweden |
| Marcus has
found life harder in the last 12 months and maybe needs a new challenge. His
ability has never been in doubt but he seems to lack that edge that all
the great riders have. He has got time on his side to address the problem,
whether he can do this is another matter and no doubt his progress will be
monitored by a few teams in the next couple of years. |
| Leigh Langley (22)
New Zealand |
|
Leigh has overcome his injury well but still
seems to lack the killer edge he once had, however still one of the very
best on his day and can never be written off. If he ever does get back
his edge he will be world champion for sure one day.
|
| Cane Richardson (24) Australia |
|
Cane has found life hard over the last 12
months but the talent is clear for all to see. Surely will bounce back
and return to the dizzy heights he has achieved in the past, still young
and he is a rider any team would want.
|
|
Eoin Williamson (25) Scotland |
|
Eoin has dropped down with Canvey this
season and this has made him one of the best riders in the lower scale
of the league, perhaps should be in the Superleague and any club would
do well to offer this flying Scot another chance.
|
|
Lee Peron (25) Australia |
|
Lee is back in Superleague again and must be
one of the most difficult riders to beat. Peron is a hard but fair rider
and gives as much as he takes on track, a true professional and a credit
to Tipton.
|
|
Dino Mazzerati (24) Italy |
Mazz as he is known is still the hardest
rider in speedway today, would run over his own grandmother to win a
race if he had to and will do anything to make sure he continues to
do that. He has had a difficult start to the season which only makes
him ride harder, watch out Mazz is about !
|
| Billy Hicks (33)
USA |
|
Billy Hicks has proven he has plenty of
talent still after winning the American final again. Now at Bradford the
elder statesman is still every bit good enough to ride at the top level,
write him off at your peril.
|
| Alex Bones (21) England |
|
Alex is a rider that could have a big
future, perhaps made the step up to Superleague a little early but is
starting to adapt and can only get better. The next season or two will
be crucial for Alex as he tries to make his way from up and coming
talent to a true Superleague star.
|
| Craig Kimble (28) England |
| Craig
is one of the hardest racing speedway riders in the world and the word
defeat is not one that is spoken in his presence. Will gladly take
on any rider anywhere just for the hell of it. Has been give the nickname
Killer by the fans for his dives under riders in his efforts to pass the
opposition. Many of which he makes, however he has been known to also take
the rider with him at times ! |
| Josh Oxley (23) USA |
| Josh
is a solid rider who wins most of his races from the gate. Has a talent
for letting the clutch go before anyone while still not hitting the tapes.
However the downside of that is when his gating lets him down he has
little in the locker to get past the rider in front. However that may come
in time and Josh is always willing to listen to advice from his fellow
riders. |
|
Lincoln Blair (22) USA |
|
Lincoln is the younger brother of Lyndon
Blair who served British speedway so well. Lincoln joined Southend where
he has become a true fans favourite with his superb passing from the
back. Still young enough to push for a world title and is getting better
every season.
|
|
Richard Webb (24) England |
|
Richard is a true product of Division 3.
Now with Lichfield he has a huge future and is a fully fledged England
international. At just 24 he has plenty of time on his side and expect
to see him progressing all the way to Superleague shortly.
|
Julian Steele (18) Scotland
Julian Steele is Scotland's number
one rider. Having just finished second in the British final he will be
looking to go much further in the world title chase this season. Still in
Division 3 where many promoters have tried to tempt his club to sell, but
even they must now understand he will not stay around forever and a move to
Superleague must be on the cards sooner rather than later. |
|
Tomasz Kornicki (26) Poland |
Tomasz lifted the world title last
season and has made a great start to his Walsall career. Tomasz is
the first Polish rider to lift the crown and also the first rider to
prize the title away from main Dane Jan Kirsten. Still has plenty
left in the tank and we can look forward to many more Kirsten v
Kornicki battles over the coming seasons.
|
|
Matt Hayes (20) England |
Matt has had a meteoric rise to fame
this season. The Boston youngster has taken the division by storm
beating riders he has no right to ! One of the fastest riders in
speedway the youngster seems to lack any fear for himself or his
opponents. Only time will tell if he can go all the way, but with
the right care this young birth could be just what this country has
been looking for.
|
|
Magnus Karlsson (27) Sweden |
Magnus has at last become an out and out
heat leader in the Superleague. Now at 27 he leads Aisha's Motor
well and looks to be one of the most consistent riders in the top
flight.
|
|
Scott McKeen (21) England |
Scott is back in Division One this
season after being relegated with his club last season. At 21 he is
another Brit who many hold hopes for and surely will be back in the
top flight very soon to further his development.
|
|
Paolo Lorini (21) Italy |
Paolo is another young Italian who looks
to be making the grade, quick out of the starts and once he is in
front must be one of the hardest rider to chase down.
|
|
Andrzej Karasinski (23) Poland |
Andrzej Karasinski is a top line rider
who most certainly should be in the Superleague. At just 23 he has
huge potential to go all the way, Sheffield will do well to hold
onto this brightly shining star.
|
|
Walter Norris (20) England |
Walter is the new World Under 21
Champion, he has lots of ability but needs to step up to get the
best out of himself. At just 20 hw has a long way to go but could be
a good rider in any division.
